This club is the AKC parent club for all labradors. The website offers information on breed standards, training, local and national events, and has lots of great articles.

The Mission of The Labrador Retriever Club, Inc:

  • To collect and preserve the history of the Labrador Retriever in the United States.
  • To support AKC licensed regional Labrador Retriever clubs by encouraging membership in these clubs, and to endorse their sponsorship of AKC specialties, hunt tests and companion dog events.
  • To support Labrador Retriever rescue organizations in a declared disaster with relief funds.
  • To maintain programs that educate and encourage Junior Handler participation in AKC events.
  • To encourage all Labrador Retriever breeders and owners to conduct themselves in an ethical and sportsmanlike manner, keeping in mind that their behavior reflects not only on themselves, but on the breed.

Training

RBFL pups have gone on to place in the AKC show and Field Trials in obedience and conformation.  You have a physically and mentally healthy pup, ready to absorb positive direction.   Please work with your pup, be patient with your pup, and take pride in your pups tail waggin’ training success stories.  Early training rewards your future with your pup.  Be prepared to find treats in your every pocket!  A well trained pup is a happy pup with happy parents.
